Massachusetts Business Owners…Did You Know?

This course consists of a series of eight 1-hour training workshops followed by a homework assignment to demonstrate your mastery of the concepts in the belt. Each workshop session (aka belt) builds on the knowledge acquired in the prior belts.

In the White Belt, you will learn the basics of working with any generative AI platform (ChatGPT, Claude, CoPilot, etc). In the Yellow Belt, you will learn how to use AI in your job. In the Orange Belt, you will learn to solve problems with the help of AI. In the Green Belt, you will learn to build AI tools. In the Blue Belt, you will learn to build full workflows with those AI tools. In the Purple Belt, you will learn about the expected changes in your role over time as you learn to work with AI. In the Brown Belt, you will learn to create AI agents and string them together to do a variety of tasks. In the Black Belt, you will learn to build business analysis models with AI and to guide others through the process.

This course consists of eight 1-hour virtual or hybrid learning sessions held at one-week intervals. Each session has homework which is required to demonstrate the skills taught at each (belt) level.

Massachusetts companies may qualify for reimbursement* through the Workforce Training Fund Program. Reimbursement is based on the program you select along with the size of your company.

The Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund Program (WTFP) Express Grant is a valuable resource for local businesses looking to improve their workforce’s skills and competitiveness. It is designed to:

1. Foster skill development among employees.

2. Enhance the productivity and efficiency of the workforce.

3. Address skills gaps and ensure businesses can adapt to changing market conditions.

4. Provide financial support to companies for eligible training initiatives.

With the Express Grant, businesses can apply for reimbursement of training expenses, making it an attractive option for companies striving to invest in employee development without bearing the full financial burden.

As of July 2023, Massachusetts based companies with fewer than 100 MA employees may be eligible for up to $20,000 per company per calendar year and $3,000 per employee per course.

• In order to qualify for the WFTP Express Grant, you must be a Massachusetts company and pay into the Workforce Training Fund. All for-profit companies pay into the fund via their Payroll taxes.

• The Express Program only funds training for employers with 100 or fewer payroll employees in Massachusetts now. For employers with over 100 payroll employees, they can consider applying for a General Program grant, but the application process is a bit different (and courses don't have to be preapproved). • All training participants must be on payroll and must work in Massachusetts

• Employees are not required to live in Massachusetts.

• Contractors or employees of other firms, such as temporary workers, are not eligible for reimbursement.

• The company must obtain a Certificate of Good Standing from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue.
