Frequently Asked Questions

What is a business coach?

A business coach is someone who helps business owners and CEOs achieve results. These results are measured by hiring outcomes, employee retention, or—my specialty!—revenue and profit growth.

While my focus is your bottom line, I take a holistic look at how your business operates using my game-changing Profit Minds(TM) Growth System. I identify the factors impeding your growth and keeping you from the success you dreamed of when you started your business.

What do business coaches do?

The foundation of my coaching practice are the relationships I build with my clients. I ask that each client commit to a year’s engagement. This lets me get to know you on a personal as well as professional level. What matters to you? What drives and inspires you? The answers to these questions guide us in setting SMART goals: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound.

One of the most valuable things a business coach brings is accountability. Our regular meetings will help you identify where you want to go, develop a plan for getting there, and measure your progress along the way. Whatever your destination, a business coach will get you there faster and more effectively.

What will our meetings look like?

That depends on what you want to accomplish!

Typically, you will come to our meeting having completed an assignment relevant to your business objectives. For example, let’s say you filled out a 3-year goal-sheet. Together we’ll break those goals down quarter by quarter, creating a timeline of action items. We’ll determine what steps you need to take in the coming days and weeks to meet your short- and long-term goals.

This is just one example, of course. Every meeting is tailored to the client’s unique needs. However, I guarantee that you will leave each meeting knowing clearly what you must do to make real progress toward your goals.

I currently offer one-on-one coaching and will soon also provide group coaching based on the Master Mind model found in Napoleon Hill’s classic book “Think and Grow Rich.” These affordably-priced group sessions are an opportunity to participate in a vibrant, supportive community of fellow business owners. Whether you choose one-on-one or group coaching, you’ll find that having more than one brain working together on a problem produces phenomenal results.

Who needs a business coach?

Anyone who wants to get ahead in their field needs a coach.

And this isn’t just true of the business world. Take basketball as an example. Every single world-class player has not just one, but several coaches. Nutrition, fitness, finance—the list goes on.

As a businessman myself, I’ve benefited from coaching throughout my career. Everyone needs a coach because everyone needs someone who can help them get better at what they do.

That said, some businesspeople might need a coach more urgently than others. Here are three surefire signs your life and business will benefit from coaching.

  • You haven’t taken a vacation in a couple years, and you’re worried that business won’t survive without you if you leave for even a couple of weeks.
  • Your business isn’t growing as fast as you’d like, maybe you’re losing market share, or you’re losing good employees to your competitors .
  • If it feels like work!

Maybe you stumbled on that last point. It is work—isn’t it? Yes, but that doesn’t mean you should be dragging yourself kicking and screaming into the office every day! As a business owner, you should be living the dream—your dream. If it has started to feel more like a nightmare, you need the focus, clarity, and renewed sense of purpose that only a business coach can provide.

Why did I decide to become a business coach?

Approaching this thing called retirement, I looked back on my career and considered what I wanted to bring with me. I’ve been a certified trainer in personal organization, effectiveness, and productivity for many years. As a senior leader at Intel, I taught annual classes based on my areas of expertise, something I enjoyed immensely. With these experiences in mind, I decided that becoming a business coach would allow me to keep teaching and learning while remaining active in the business community.

What are my qualifications? (Why should you listen to me?)

My coaching approach draws upon my scientific research background and business management expertise. I have a Ph.D. in Physics and over 20 years’ experience as a senior engineering manager and leader in the technology sector. Throughout my career, I saw my colleagues struggle with getting the most important things done. As soon as I started talking with business owners, I realized it was the same for them. The difference was they were struggling to generate clients, close sales, scale their product, and grow their bottom line. I founded my company, ProfitMinds, to help these business owners find solutions.

My success is a testament to the incredible results I get for my clients. Every client who’s finished the first year of coaching has signed up for a second year, and every client who’s finished a second year has signed up for a third. Coaching has produced exponential growth for their businesses—and I guarantee it can do the same for yours.

What makes my approach unique?

While there are coaches who focus specifically on marketing or implementing new operating systems, my Profit Minds™ Growth System allows me to move seamlessly from one need to the next. My approach is tailored to your specific goals and challenges.

The Profit Minds™ Growth System is designed to increase profit, accelerate productivity, and build robust business process for scale. By maximizing the value of your products or services, you’ll grow your top and bottom line. You’ll learn how to defeat procrastination by building better habits and working out of your own priorities. If you’re struggling to scale your business, the Profit Minds™ Growth System will show you how to build a team, delegate effectively, and identify the key metrics that drive business growth.

The result? Less stress and lasting success.

Another unique benefit of my coaching is the personal investment I make in my clients’ businesses. For clients who are not able to afford the full cost of coaching, I offer a revenue share. Instead of my usual monthly fee, I charge a smaller retainer plus a percentage of their business growth. Not only does this make my coaching more affordable, it means I have skin in the game. I only work with people whose success I truly believe in.
